Weidenfeller enters BVB´s record books

[30.05.] Young, dynamic, successful - these attributes are associated with Borussia Dortmund. Not surprisingly, current BVB heroes haven´t made it into the record books of the club yet where names like Burgsmüller, Huber, Reuter or Zorc can be found - players who shaped the club. Last season, however, one of today´s players managed to break his way into more than just one top 10 list...
Roman Weidenfeller has been with Borussia Dortmund for the past 11 years, and with two Bundesliga titles and a cup win, he has already ensured his place in the club´s history books. Now his name will also be featured in the facts and figures pages of the BVB yearbook whose 2013/14 issue will be released in early August.

Weidenfeller has played 25,355 minutes for BVB in the Bundesliga so far, with only three players in the club ahead of him in this category: Michael Zorc (38,094), Dede (27,002) and Stefan Reuter (25,508) who the goalkeeper could leapfrog after the third game of next season, with Dede also within reach.

With 345 games, the 32-year-old also currently sits seventh on BVB´s all-time list for most (competitive) games, just behind Lothar Huber (365), Hoppy Kurat (368) and Dede (377). Michael Zorc, by the way, tops this list as well with 561 games.

And in the top 10 list for most Bundesliga appearances, Weidenfeller improved to sixth with 284 games.
