100 points in the league: The team beat their previous best of 99 points from the 2009/10 season to equal the competition’s record set by Real Madrid last season.
Biggest ever lead over second place team: Barça have never before won a league title by such a massive margin – their previous best in a three points for a win league was when they finished 13 points ahead of Madrid and Mallorca in the 1998/99 season. In leagues with two points for a win, the Club finished 10 points ahead in the 1984/85 and 1990/91 campaigns.
Leaders all season long: This year was just the second in their history that Barça had led the table from start to finish – something they previously achieved in the 1984/5 season.
Last home league match this season for Castilla. The Whites’ reserves face Alcorcon who are fifth-placed and in the fight for promotion to the First Division. The Whites are looking to maintain their unbeaten home record in 2013, where they have amassed eight wins and two draws since the start of the year. Omar and Llorente had their official debut with Real Madrid during the match against Osasuna, corresponding to day 38 of the League. Victor Heynckes 'is a great friend'

The Whites will play at the Santiago Bernabeu against the already safe Osasuna at 17:00 (C+ Liga & Gol T), with the aim of finishing the season with another win at home, where they have not lost a single match, which makes them the only one team in the big European leagues to have achieved that. After having managed 12 wins and three draws in their last 15 matches, with an average of three goals per match, the Whites have the challenge of passing the 100 goals barrier in the tournament, in which they already have 99, for the fourth consecutive season.

"I have three years left on my contract and I'd like to play when I'm 40, I'll fight for it," says Puyol
Carles Puyol held a press conference this Friday afternoon to talk about the knee injury that's keep him away from the pitch for two and half months. The captain revealed that he could hardly walk in the first weeks after his surgery, but as time passed he started to recover. Puyol is determined to continue with his recovery process so that he can be fully fit for Barça’s preseason. “The idea is to keep on working. I have a plan prepared so that I can by at 100% for the preseason,” he noted.
Puyol was clear that he’s ready to fight to keep on playing football as long as possible. “My future is at Barça. I have three years remaining on my contract and I want to play competitively until I’m 40, I’m going to fight for it,” he said. He then went on to rubbish claims that he was interested in moving to another club: “I’ve only been focused on Barça. I would like to retire here.”
The FC Barcelona centre back then talked about his injury, which forced him to have surgery on March 15. He admitted that he first noticed the problem with his knee during the preseason match against PSG. Since then the pain persisted and his knee injury made it impossible to train or play properly. Puyol decided to undergo surgery in the hopes he’d fully fit by the conclusion on the season. But the captain explained that the injury was more complicated than the doctors had thought, which in turn forced the player “to follow a more conservative recovery process.”
Puyol thanked President Sandro Rosell, who honoured the verbal agreement to renew the player for three additional seasons even though Puyol wasn’t at 100%. The captain explained that he phoned Rosell to inform him of his intention to not renew his contract because he “thought it was the fairest outcome for the team and the institution.” But the president talked him out of that course of action and Puyol eventually signed his new contract. The player thanked the president for his “confidence” and he made it clear that he has no intention to see out his contract if he’s not fit enough to play.

No doubt about his future
When asked about his future plans, Vilanova reiterated that he’ll be at the Barça helm next season: “I cannot say it clearer, I cannot say it any louder. There is nothing to clear up. I will be Barça’s manager next season.”
Along these lines, the manager explained that he would have understood if the Club had decided to look for a replacement while he was in New York receiving treatment, and that he’d understand the same decision if the Club looked for a replacement today. But that’s not the case, however. “When someone gets the illness that I had it’s normal for revisions to be made. It’s something the Club knows, I suggested it. No one can know what the future holds. At the moment, the doctors say I should move forward and that’s what I’m going to do.”
The future of Éric Abidal was also another hot topic of discussion during Vilanova’s conference. The manager reiterated that “it was a consensual decision by the Club” to not renew Abidal’s contract. He added: “I feel terrible about it. We know that we won’t find a left-footed centre back with his characteristics, we know that his case is exceptional. I hope he goes to a big club and that he gets the chance to show that he’s able to play at the highest level.”
Vilanova also confirmed that Abidal, who trained with the team this afternoon, will feature against Málaga on Saturday. It will be Abidal’s last match in the Blaugrana strip.
Reinforcing Barça’s defence
Without Abidal, Vilanova explained the need to bring in a new defender next season: “we need to reinforce this position, I’ve always said this. We also hope Puyol can recover well, hopefully he will be able to help us next year.” When asked about the Barça captain, Vilanova noted that it’s strange that some would “doubt his professionalism. He’s the example to follow.”
Lastly, the manager talked about three members of his team: Valdés, Villa and Thiago. On the goalkeeper, he said, “as far as I’m concerned there’s no problem with him staying another year, his behaviour has always been exemplary." He also admitted that he hasn’t talked with the Asturian forward about his future: “we haven’t spoken with him. My evaluation of his work is very positive.” Finally, when asked about Thiago’s situation, he said, “I can only say that he’s a very valued player. He’s Barça’s future and we’d like it if he stayed, but the decision is his.”

ONES TO WATCH
Manuel Pellegrini has many quality players to call upon for this evening’s match, but few match up to theIsco’s talent. The Spanish youngster doesn’t have a head-turning goal tally in La Liga (seven), but his ability on the ball is only rivaled by the best footballers on the planet. His ability to orchestrate the flow of Málaga’s attack is reminiscent of David Silva’s ability at Manchester City or Andrés Iniesta’s prowess at FC Barcelona. In addition to Isco, Joaquín Sánchez and Willy Caballero shouldn't be overlooked. Joaquín, a midfielder by trade, is lethal in one-on-ones and his accuracy in front of goal can be devastating. Caballero, on the other hand, is tasked with protecting Málaga’s goal. The keeper is considered to be one of the best in La Liga, and his stats this season prove it. He’s only allowed 38 goals from 33 matches this season, that’s an average of 1.15 goals per match. Only Víctor Valdés andThibaut Courtois boast better records, 1.06 and 0.78 goals respectively.
It goes without saying that if Barça are going to reach 100 points in La Liga, they will certainly be made to work hard for it.
